Beer and wine festivals, many more events on tap this week around Colorado

Tickets are still available for the Ouray Winter Wine Festival at the Wright Opera House on Saturday, Feb. 17. The event in the historic mining town includes an intimate sampling of unique offerings from eight wineries, three distilleries, and one cidery from Colorado’s Western Slope. Tickets start at $55.
The Children’s Museum hosts the Joy on Tap beer festival at 7 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 22. The 21+ event includes local beers, food from local caterers and an evening of play at the museum (with no kids getting in the way). Attendees can blow bubbles, launch rockets, paint and more.
Fiction Beer Co. will host a pair of book signings for local Denver authors at 2 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 17. Ryan Lamantia will sign his psychological thriller “Road Trip,” and self-proclaimed “cheerful goth” Angela Sylvaine will sign her quirky horror novel “Frost Bite.”
The brewery also hosts a five-course beer pairing dinner with Thistle & Mint at 5 p.m. Sunday. Tickets cost $85, and the menu is available here. Vegetarian options also are available.
Outer Range Brewing hosts a powder party all day Saturday, Feb. 17. Burton snowboard demo pickup starts at 8:30 a.m. A spritz bar, a new hazy IPA and powdered donuts are available starting at 11 a.m.
Novel Strand hosts its first arts and crafts night with an acrylic painting session at 6 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 15. Cost is $25 per person, including all art supplies and the first beer.
Guanella Pass Brewery will host “Pig Roast at the Pass” Saturday, Feb. 17, with a daylong pond hockey tournament and meat cutting at 3 p.m. Tickets cost $15.
Steakhouse cooking class in Stratton
Claremont Inn and Winery hosts the “Steakhouse Favorites” cooking class from 1 to 5 p.m. Saturday. Get a hands-on lesson on cooking a perfect steak and all the sides, then enjoy the steak dinner.
Wine & cheese pairing in Breckenridge
Continental Divide Winery hosts a wine and cheese pairing class at 6 p.m. Friday, Feb. 6, at the Breckenridge Barrel Room. RSVP is required, and cost is $75 per person. The class will be repeated on March 15 as well.
Comrade Brewing will host an IPA fest from noon to 9 p.m. next Wednesday, Feb. 21, with hoppy brews from Amalgam, Cannonball Creek, Cellar West, Liquid Mechanics, Our Mutual Friend and more.
